New GP Surgery for Shortstown

We are delighted to announce that the new Shortstown GP Practice premises will open in the Autumn 2020. The premises are located in Beauvais Square next to the primary school.

The practice originally opened in their current ‘temporary’ location in 2007. The intention was to establish the practice to meet the medical needs of the residents of the existing village of Shortstown, along with the residents who were moving into the new housing developments. However, the development of the practice premises was delayed. In 2013 Dr Mackenzie took over the practice.

Over the past 3 years Dr Mackenzie has worked with Bedfordshire CCG, NHS Property Services and the local housing developer, Bellway to develop the new practice. The team has worked hard to ensure that we deliver a modern GP surgery that will be enable us to provide 21st Century healthcare for the residents of Shortstown and the surrounding areas.

The surgery will comprise: 3 GP consultation rooms; 1 Nurse room and an HCA/Phlebotomy room. There will be a waiting room and a separate Reception area. An interview room is available to allow patients to discuss their medical issues in a confidential setting. There will be a full back office area where the team will carry out the Administrative functions of the practice. Please watch our website for updates and details on the opening date when it is confirmed.

Thank you,

Dr L Mackenzie
